Tim Novak has been a gravity fan his entire life. Making and ride gravity powered vehicles has been a lifelong obsession. The Skateluge™ was the first craft followed by the Skateluge™ Street Luge and Classic Luge.
Going downhill has never been such a BLAST. The Skateluge™ combines the excitement of the Street Luge with the fun of backyard sledding. Using skateboard components mounted on a custom molded hardwood deck, riders can enjoy an exhilarating downhill “flight” with ease.
The Skateluge™ features intuitive handholds and calf support. This allows the rider to sit upright. It creates a comfortable and stable ride with an emphasis on safe recreation. The Skateluge™ rider’s upright (sitting) position provides greater visibility, better view of the road ahead, awesome maneuverability and better control. Skills vital to gravity sports like street luge and buttboard can be developed with the Skateluge.
Before long, Tim was making Streetluges for competition. To compliment the Noreaster™ Streetluge, Tim also created the Skateluge” Classic Luge.
Those were the days. Driving to very cool hills all over New England looking for fresh drops. Building, testing and improving my downhill designs became all consuming. With a camera attached, I would bomb hills without fear experiencing the ultimate rush. And, of course, there were the competitions.
Gravity racing consumed my life. Alongside the Skateluge” website, I created Gravity Sport University. It was a website featuring news and videos from competitions and how to videos for gravity sport newbies.
These days the only gravity sport Tim has been involved in is couch surfing.
